Departure and arrival of guitarists!
We regret to announce that our rhythm/lead guitarist through all these years, Kristian Ring, has decided to resign from the band. We have been standing side by side through thick and thin and we have shared many a great moment, both on stage and during years of rehearsals.
"To be able to fulfill my roles in a personal life of ever-increasing involvement, I have come to the conclusion that I need to free up time whereever possible.
Unfortunately this (to me) means that an awesome journey must come to an end. This band has obviously been a bigger part of my identity than I have been willing to admit to myself, because this has not been an easy decision.
Time has now come to part (at least in the collegial manner) with my long-time friends and band colleagues to allow them to regroup and take the next step, possibly also grow into something even bigger.
Thanks for all support through the years and to my (former) band colleagues: Rock on! It has been a great few years and I will surely miss our time together. I wish you a prosperous future!" - Kristian Ring
Nan Madol loses a great Madolian.
We are also proud to present, Petter Christian Bakke, as a new member of Nan Madol! He is an experienced musician. Not only is he a great and hard working guitarist, but also a talented vocalist! He will take the place of our former guitarist, Kristian Ring, and also contribute with backing vocals.
Petter Christian has followed the band as a friend and fan since the beginning. Being on the lookout for a serious band project himself, he certainly would not miss the chance when we asked him to join us!
In just a few months, Petter Christian has plowed through almost the entire Nan Madol catalog, and we are ready to make the city of Horten, Norway shiver and rock, on our first concert togehter march 26th!
Album Release: Feathered Serpent
Since the summer of 2014, Nan Madol has been working on recording its debut album: Feathered Serpent. The release date will be September 24th 2015.
The album consists of both new material as well as music that have been performed live over the years. The album has been recorded and mixed in cooperation with Norwegian rock-legend Alex Møklebust (Seigmen, Zeromancer), and will be released both in digital and cd-format on Naturecord.
Nan Madol - Historien der alle historier begynner
The last weekend in February Nan Madol and theater Proserpina, in cooperation with the dance company Extend - Art of dance and the theater group De Munnfulle, performed an interpretation of the upcoming Nan Madol album on Støperiet in Tønsberg.
More than 50 actors, dancers and acrobats entered the stage together with Nan Madol and deliver a very unique performance for more than 500 people! Read more about it in the local newspaper Tønsberg Blad here: (Norwegian only)
New Single: Children of the Earth
4th of July Nan Madol releases its new single "Children of the Earth", this is the first release from Nan Madol after the debut album “Feathered Serpent” in 2015. The lyrics of the single is a reaction to the world's present events, and this release sets off our quest to keep developing our music and sound.
